Ghandor Beach in Aqaba, a complex and multi-challenges level pilot project in Jordan
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in Jordan proposed Ghandor beach as the pilot project area in the framework of the MedSeaties project.
The site is considered as one of the few remaining public beaches located in the northern parts of Aqaba, as currently about five kilometres out of 27Km of the Aqaba coastlines are available as public.

MedSeaties Partners met to foster creativeness & synergies
The third Steering Committee of the MedSeaties project took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on April 16-17, 2015.
The objectives of the meeting were mainly to share conclusions related to local governance improvement, experiences and results of the pilot projects.
Partners shared, expressed their doubts and difficulties in the implementation of the activities in each territory and worked together to find solutions.

Local Working Groups: an example of good practice through the Greek experience
Since the launch of the MedSeaties project, the Municipality of Thessaloniki has been proactive in organizing several local working groups (LWG). To date, three LWG Meetings took place in Thessaloniki, Greece: the first one (kick-off) on June 27, 2014; the second one on March 13, 2015 and the third one on May 28, 2015. Blue Growth Challenge: the potential of the world-wide oceans

Liguria Cluster of Maritime Technologies (DLTM), MedSeaties’ partner, participated on May 19, 2015 to the Ocean15 Conference that took place in Genoa, Italy.
This event was a joint annual conference and exposition on ocean science, engineering and policy organized by the Marine Technology Society (MTS) / Oceanic Engineering Society of IEEE cosponsor.

MEDCOP21, A new way to face common challenges
From November 30 to December 11 2015, France will host and chair the twenty-first Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

September 17-19 – BiodiversCities 2015 – Marseille, France
The international seminar “BiodiversCities 2015” took place on September 17-19 in Marseille. Co-organized by the National Park of Port Cros, Aix-Marseille University, the City of Marseille and IUCN; this event focused on “Cities and natural parks: building an urban nature?”.

September 24 – Integrated Coastal Zone Management Workshop – Antibes, France
The Agence Française de Développement and Plan Bleu, co-organized a brainstorming and knowledge sharing workshop on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) in Antibes on September 24, 2015. The aim was to define the objectives of this partnership on the ICZM theme in the framework of those territories balanced development.

September 25 – European Researcher’ Night – Several events in Europe
The European Researchers' Night celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. It is a Europe-wide public event dedicated to popular science and fun learning. More than 30 countries and over 300 cities were involved simultaneously across Europe and beyond. The events showcase what researchers really do for society, in interactive and engaging ways, and promote research careers.

November 25-27 – Coastal & Maritime Mediterranean Conference – Ferrara, Italy
This three-day Mediterranean Conference will be focused on coastal risks management in the Mediterranean; coastal and maritime port planning; sediment transport (problems and solutions); and river sediment delivery to the Mediterranean Sea. Important coastal and maritime engineering projects will be discussed during round tables and workshops.

May 28-29 – European Maritime Day: “Ports & coasts, Gateways to Maritime Growth” – Piraeus, Greece
European Maritime Day is celebrated annually in Europe around May 20. The EMD Conference welcomes Europe's growing maritime community to discuss, debate and exchange best practices. The 2015 edition of the European Maritime Day was devoted to the role of territories; ports and coastal cities on the one hand, and more broadly coastal areas on the other hand.

June 23 – Launch of the Cooperation Programme “Interreg MED 2014-2020” – Marseille France
The MED Programme Day took place in Marseille during a kick off event. This meeting was the opportunity to discover the new programme, the different thematic priorities and the expectations for future projects. The Interreg MED Programme is the transnational European Cooperation Programme for the Mediterranean area. The transnational lens allows partners from 13 countries including the whole Northern Mediterranean seacoast to tackle challenges beyond national borders.

June 23 – Ecosystems Marine Day – Marseille, France
The Centre for Research and Interdisciplinary Intersectoral Environment (Men, media, companies) from Aix -Marseille University and the Mediterranean Sea Cluster (Pôle Mer Méditerranée MedSeaties partner) jointly organized a thematic day on the issue of "Marine Ecosystems: Observation, Management, Restoration, Ecosystem Services". This workshop aimed to foster collaboration between the two bodies on this crucial issue.

June 23-24 – Conference on Protected Spaces in the Mediterranean – Marseille, France
The MedSeaties partner MedPAN organized the conference-debate: "Socio-economic benefits of coastal and marine protected spaces in the Mediterranean: What impacts for the sustainable development of territories?" in Marseille, France. The objective of this conference was to highlight the importance of coastal and marine protected spaces for the sustainable development of the territories. It brought together 170 participants from 11 countries, including the European Commission DG Environment representatives.

July 1st – Launch of the Interreg Marittimo Program – Pisa Italy
The border Cooperation Programme Italy - France Maritime 2014-2020 co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF) was formally introduced - after formal approval by the European Commission - July 1st, 2015 in Pisa. The event was attended by institutional representatives and concerned five territories (Corsica, Liguria, Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, Tuscany and Sardinia), the European Commission and the two Member States (France and Italy).
